We breathe 12 to 14 times a minute and the average life span is about 70-80 years. A Dog breathes 40 times a minute and its life span is about 12-14 years. A Turtle breathes once a minute and lives about 200 years. Whereas, sea turtles breathe once every 5 minutes and can live upto 500 years. But we all know, breathing faster or slower depends on the availability of Oxygen in the air. Interestingly when we breathe, the air contains only 20.9% of Oxygen. The increasing pollution in the air actually reduces the Oxygen content further down.
